Ever since I was a kid, photography has been a passion of mine. When I was 14 years old, my parents and I were vacationing in Europe, and I persuaded them to take me into Germany to purchase my first camera. This seminal photographic experience sparked my subsequent interest in the art form of imagery, form and function. After high school, I attended The Maryland Institute College of Art, and completed a BFA in photography.
My entire career has revolved around photogaphy and graphic arts. I was honored by the National Newspaper Photographic Association, and my award winning photograph was displayed at the National Geographic Society in Washington, D.C. Additionally, my photographs have been on display in a variety of venues.
In the educational arena, I have taught courses in photography, which have included composition, lighting and ideal usage of photographic equipment.
My experience in the areas of commercial and industrial photography has been extensive. In addition, I have photographed weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and have worked in various areas such as political campaigns and social justice causes.
My focus is artistic photography; I am not a believer in manipulating images in programs such as Photoshop. My images are composed in the viewfinder of my camera, and printed as is. I am a purist in this regard. I am passionate about photography and strive to take a picture that tells a story.
